General Information
Where Can I Learn More?
Magazines, idea books and scrapbooking conventions and classes are great ways to learn more about scrapbooking and to get inspired. Creating Keepsakes and Memory Makers are two scrapbooking magazines; www.yourcreativespirit.com is an online magazine. All three have instructional articles, sample layouts and information.
Idea books are terrific resources too. Publishers like Hot Off The Press, Creating Keepsakes and Memory Makers all have a range of idea books on various themes and topics. The most recent from Hot Off The Press include:
- LeNae’s Scrapbooking Basics, all the basics, all the examples, all the information a beginning scrapper will need
- Shauna’s Secrets of Scrapbooking, a 56-page instruction book featuring Shauna’s designer style
- Making Fabulous Scrapbook Pages), a 144-page book with ideas, sample layouts and mini classes
- Totally Tag Art is a 48-page instruction book on making decorated tags to embellish pages with.
- What Can I Do With Vellum? is a 48-page book with ideas and instructions for using vellum on scrapbook pages.
- Making Lumpy Scrapbook Pages is a 48-page book showing ideas for using three-dimensional embellishments on pages—such as buttons, tags, ribbon, beads and more.
- 50 Classes With Pizazz CD-ROM is a CD of 55 video classes which teach everything from the basics to layout ideas. You’ll also find articles and patterns, plus layouts and supply lists. You can watch a sample video from this CD-Rom by clicking here. (LINK TO SAMPLE VIDEO)
Don’t forget to check out our scrapbooking convention calendar. Conventions are fun gatherings where scrapbookers can shop, take classes and crop with other scrapbookers. Hot Off The Press has a booth at many shows all over the country; we also have a teacher who travels to even more shows to teach scrapbooking classes.
